Pezzottaite (also known as Raspberry Beryl), is a rare gemstone that was discovered in the early 2000's. The main source of it in Madagascar was depleted quickly, with the total mined material estimated to be in just the 10's of kilograms. Much of this material was not facet grade, making pieces over 2 carats significantly rare.
