Our Story and Mission

How It Started

I started this business from a passion that was sparked in the region I grew up in: Wilberforce, Ontario, Canada. Wilberforce is located about 30 minutes from Bancroft, Ontario, which is known as the "Rockhounding Capital of Canada." The area offers a variety of rocks and minerals that can be found and collected. This hobby of mine grew steadily and eventually led to the founding of Erikord Gems.

Future Aspirations

I understand that the gem and mineral industry can be complex, especially when it comes to seeing the full supply chain across different continents. My goal is to increase transparency and ensure ethical sourcing for all products in the future. In May 2023, I met with one of my best suppliers in Morocco to visit and document some of the mines where our specimens are sourced. During the trip, we visited and purchased on-site at the Mibladen and Sidi Ayad mines. We also visited our selenite workshop in Midelt and bought directly from miners near Bou Azzer.

I will continue this process as feasible in the near future. I recently graduated with a Bachelor's degree in entrepreneurship from Bishop's University in April of 2024. As of June 2024, I have become full-time at Erikord Gems and look forward to more journeys to source product directly from miners at the source.

Erikord Gems offers free shipping on all orders over $50 CAD. We have flat rate shipping available for all other orders. We ship worldwide from Wilberforce, Ontario, Canada.
