We’re proud to share that we’ve made our first donation, contributing 5% of our total sales from June 18 to October 31, 2024, to the Congo Children Trust. This charity runs the Kimbilio project, which provides vital support to street-connected children in Lubumbashi, a major city in the former Katanga province of the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC).
Katanga is one of the world’s richest mining regions, known for its abundant copper and cobalt reserves. Unfortunately, this has led to significant challenges, including child labor in artisanal mining operations. The Congo Children Trust is dedicated to helping vulnerable children by offering protection, education, and vocational training. Through their work, they aim to provide safer, brighter futures and reduce the reliance on child labor in mining.
Since 2009, their efforts have transformed lives through family reunification, education, and skills training programs in areas like sewing and hairdressing.
