Between June 2024 and December 2025, Erikord Gems allocated 5% of website sales to charitable donations supporting children affected by mining-related challenges in the Democratic Republic of Congo.
Over this period, donations were made in four stages, covering website orders placed between June 18, 2024 and December 31, 2025. The final contribution was sent on December 31, 2025.
Funds were directed to the Congo Children Trust, which supports the Kimbilio project in Lubumbashi. Kimbilio works with street-connected children by focusing on family reunification, access to education, and vocational skills training.
Lubumbashi is located in the former Katanga province, one of the world’s most mineral rich regions. While mining plays a major role in the local economy, it has also contributed to complex social challenges, including child labor in some artisanal mining contexts. The Congo Children Trust addresses these issues by providing protection, education, and practical skills training, helping reduce reliance on unsafe work and supporting long term stability for vulnerable children.
Since 2009, their programs have supported thousands of children through education and vocational pathways such as sewing and hairdressing, alongside family reunification efforts.
